As is often the way with Real Madrid &#8211; especially in the Champions League &#8211; they didn\u2019t know when they were beaten. Inspired by a Vinicius Jr hat-trick and goals from Antonio Rudiger and Lucas Vasquez, Los Blancos surged to a 5-2 win to complete a second-half comeback.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">History repeated itself last weekend for Die Schwarzgelben, albeit on a smaller, domestic scale. Donyell Malen once again gave Dortmund the lead, this time after just four minutes, before Alexis Claude Maurice inspired Augsburg\u2019s turnaround with goals either side of half-time, before Dortmund\u2019s misery was compounded by Almugera Kabar\u2019s red card, in the ninth minute of second half injury time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And their awful away form continued on Tuesday night, when VfL Wolfsburg knocked them out of the DFB-Pokal, with an extra-time winner from Jonas Wind handing Dortmund their third defeat in just eight days. When questioned on what the defeat meant for head coach Nuri Sahin, the club\u2019s sporting director Sebastian Kehl said: &#8220;Nothing. We will stand together. We will go through it together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Away from cup competitions and back to the Bundesliga, inconsistency in results has plagued Dortmund in recent weeks, though the reason why is clear to see &#8211; they can\u2019t win away, but never fail to win at home in front of the famous Yellow Wall. Of their five home games so far &#8211; four in the league &#8211; they have won all five. Of their eight games away from home &#8211; again four in the league &#8211; they\u2019ve lost six, with a DFB-Pokal first-round win against 1. FC Ph\u00f6nix L\u00fcbeck of the fourth tier, and a 0-0 draw at Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga accounted for the the other two matches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RB Leipzig are enjoying life in a battle with Bayern M\u00fcnchen at the top of the Bundesliga, sitting second on twenty points and only behind the Bavarian giants on goal difference.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So far, Leipzig are unbeaten in each of their eight Bundesliga matches, winning six and drawing two, and have by far the meanest defense in the division, conceding only three league goals &#8211; two of which came against the defending champions Bayer Leverkusen in the second game of the season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s in the Champions League that Leipzig have struggled so far this season, which makes one wonder where their place may truly sit among Europe\u2019s elite, should they go on to win the title this season. So far, they\u2019ve lost all three games against Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Liverpool &#8211; admittedly, it\u2019s been a tough run. Dortmund, despite their recent falters, have plenty of big game experience, and could well use this to their advantage on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the road, their league form couldn\u2019t be any different from their hosts &#8211; winning three of their four matches and drawing the other. They\u2019ll come into the game in a buoyant mood, too, having overcome St Pauli 4-2 midweek in the DFB-Pokal, despite several injuries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig Team News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Borussia Dortmund will definitely be without Almugera Kabar, after he picked up that late red card at Augsburg last weekend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their injury record doesn\u2019t make for good reading either, if you\u2019re Nuri Sahin. Giovanni Reyna continues to be absent with a groin strain that\u2019s kept him out since early September. Karim Adeyemi also remains on the sidelines for a couple more weeks with a muscle injury sustained at the start of October.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Winger Jurian Duranville also faces a wait to return to action from a hamstring injury, Niklas S\u00fcle continues to struggle with an ankle problem, Waldemar Anton is sidelined with a thigh injury and Julian Ryerson misses out with adductor pain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There could be a return, however, for Yan Couto, who has missed out in recent weeks with a muscle injury.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it comes to absentees, high-flying Leipzig aren\u2019t faring much better, particularly in the middle of the park. Xaver Schlager, Assan Ou\u00e9draogo, and Nicolas Seiwald will all sit the trip to Dortmund out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Left-back David Raum, attacking midfielder Xavi Simons, and forward Lo\u00efs Openda are all also due to miss the trip, with varying injuries between them all.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There could be a return for goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi after he left the field with an injury in the 3-1 win over Freiburg last weekend. Union Berlin are enjoying a good start to the season, sitting fourth after eight games and only losing once. Regarding scoring goals, Union and Bayern couldn\u2019t be more different. Bayern have netted on 29 occasions, while Union have only put the ball in the net on nine occasions. At the back, however, both sides have been frugal, with Union conceding just five to Bayern\u2019s seven. Bremen have played four away from home so far, picking up ten points. They\u2019ve also found the net ten times in their last three league matches, showing their potency in attacking areas. M\u00f6nchengladbach have been hit and miss, sitting 11th in the Bundesliga currently with ten points.
